Do we ever meet Chris to get into a flat to get a shower?<br \/>\nActually, no. After finally getting into the other flat, we took a shower and went to meet Chris in front of a grocery store near the area where our purchased flat is located, Rue Cler. I guess Chris&#8217; meeting was still going on, so he sent a friend to meet us and show us our new abode. <\/p>\n<p>2. Will Jon\u2019s phone ever get charged?<br \/>\nYES! Jon snuck into someone else&#8217;s apartment, found an outlet, and charged the phone enough so we could finally get the code so we could take a shower. Shhh, don&#8217;t tell anyone! Je ne parlez pas francais!?<\/p>\n<p>3. Do we get deported back to the USA for trespassing?!<br \/>\nPlain and simple, no. <\/p>\n<p>So, after one very long day, we were excited to start exploring Paris. On our first real day of adventure, Wednesday, we bought a quiche with champignons (mushrooms), a tartine, some Orangina and had a lovely lunch on the lawn in front of the Eiffel Tower. It definitely wasn&#8217;t easy to order our food since we had no idea what the protocol was or what our server was asking\/telling us. Jon and I both felt so stupid and we were determined to start learning some easy phrases to get us through this week. <\/p>\n<p><strong>European Vacation Clip &#8211; NOT SAFE FOR CHILDREN, ESPECIALLY THOSE WHO CAN READ!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" src=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/3iXGbJKjNxU\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>During our lunch, everyone around us was posing with the Eiffel Tower and doing some silly things, so I thought I would try a few poses, as well. The first set of pictures we took were deleted (THANKS, Jon! Geesh!). The 2nd set weren&#8217;t as good, but I guess they&#8217;ll have to do. After our Eiffel Tower visit and some exploring of our neighborhood, we came back and I slept&#8230; still exhausted from the previous day. <\/p>\n<p>Before heading to dinner, we decided to experiment with our French. Jon put me to the test as we headed into a Tabac shop to purchase a 4-day museum pass. I said, &#8220;Bonjour! Parlez-vous anglais?&#8221; The young girl was tickled by my limited French, and responded with a smile and said &#8220;A little.&#8221; We succeeded and I started to feel a lot more confident with talking en Francais! After that, we ate at a place called Le Petit Cler for dinner. We both enjoyed le plat du jour, which was basically pork ribs and mashed potatoes. <\/p>\n<p>After dinner we headed to the Musee Rodin. There are beautiful well-manicured gardens around the property, including sculptures of The Thinker and Victor Hugo.
